On the eve of Rath Yatra

‘Rath Yatra’, the car festival is celebrated once in a year all over India on the ‘Asadha month, Shukla paksha, Dwitiya tithi.’ Lord Jagannath is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The legend depicts the story of Nila Madhava as follows :

‘Nilamadhava’ was worshipped by ‘Sabara raja or king of hunters’, ‘Biswabasu’ in the village of ‘Kantilo’ in the ‘Nayagarh district’ of Orissa. The place was a dense forest. The King had hidden the idol of Nila madhava. The king of Puri, raja ‘Indradyumna’ came to know of this fact. He sent his minister ‘Bidyapati’ to steal that idol which was believed to have the supreme power of Lord Vishnu.

Bidyapati had to play a  nasty game of conspiracy. He loved and married the daughter of Biswa basu, ‘Lalita’. He was successful in his plan of seeing the God. He stole the idol and brought it to Puri ‘Srikhetra’ where the King started worshipping the God.

One night, king Indradyumna had a dream. According to it, he had to build the deities of ‘Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Goddess Subhadra’ out of sandalwood which he had to collect from the Puri beach. In every 12 or 18 years, The ‘Nabakalebar’ of the Lords are rebuilt. On the ‘Rath yatra’ or ‘car festival’ the Lords go to the ‘Gundicha’ temple. He returns on the tenth day which is called the ‘Bahuda yatra’.

Every year the chariots are rebuilt. The chariots of the three Gods are ‘Nandi Ghosha’, the chariot of Lord Jagannath, ‘Deba dalana’, of Godess Subhadra and ‘Tala dhvaja’, of Lord Balabhadra.

The secret purpose of his visit is to give ‘visit or darshan’ to all of his devotees irrespective of ‘caste, creed and religion’.  On the eve of ‘rath yatra’, all the people can have his  visit, can have his blessings and can pull his sacred chariot. People merge in the ocean of divinity. They get the spiritual bliss. The spiritual bliss pervades all over their mortal bodies. The sankirtan of’ Jai Jagannath’ vibrates within their hearts and gives the pleasure of spirituality.

lord is carrying the load of whole world’s miseries and sorrows, sufferings of whole human society, all living, non living beings ,he embodies in his body, at the time of destruction all are perished ,mingled in his body, he is the symbol of creation and destruction always in his supreme abode, he creates the time ,transcends the time , finite and infinite, beginning and the end, form and formless, ,the vital energy, the sun ,gayatri, spiritual consciousness, in our minds in his each cell he creates one universe this is the concept of puranna  sastra.

If it is  true or not, just a faith or believe but the sun, planets are true, have been in the universe, will remain in universe for ever, if  there is no doubt in this doctrine or thesis, then the lords , are so powerful can we imagine ,can we imagine to carry his burdon pulling the sacred rope ,which is impossible for us unless, the lords desire, or permit us to pull their sacred rope, with their willingness, approval we can pull their chariots otherwise ,not an inch can be moved from that place not a leave can shake without his mercy, it is their divine blessings that we are so fortunate that we can carry their load, are able to pull their chariots  and sacred rope.
